t’s hard to believe that one year has passed since Little Ashkim launched in May 2014. It had taken over two years to get to that point with several trips to Turkey and lots of long nights putting together the business plan, learning regulations and ensuring the products were exactly what was envisioned. I wanted to bring the highest quality of Turkish Towels and baby layette products into the market!
After the launch, there was a whirlwind of activity. The first order (a Panda Towel) came in the first weeks after the Little Ashkim website was stood up and then the sales from boutiques/stores and websites followed soon thereafter. Our first boutique to host our products was in New York (Wyatt Lily) with additional stores from our home state Maryland all the way to California. We attended the ABC show in Las Vegas where we rolled out our wholesale business. Well known national chains and department stores such as Nordstrom, buybuyBaby, Bed Bath and Beyond, Diapers.com and others started selling our products on their websites. Our first ever department store partner is Nordstrom and Little Ashkim Turkish towels were on Nordstom.com within five months after we launched our business. We were highlighted as one of the hottest trends in Baby Gear by the Bump magazine, highlighted in NJ Suburban Parent magazine, Best in Baby Business magazine and even made it on TV on Showcase Marketplace! The beginning of this month, we have rolled out our new line of Turkish towels made from Bamboo rayon and cotton fibers which has been a big hit. All in all, this year could not have been possible without our customers and companies that carry our products. Thank you all and here is to another
